Hiking the PR-EI-101 route

Distance: 20.2km circular route Difficulty: moderate Time Taken: approx. 6hr round trip

The PR-EI-101 is a 20.2 km circular trail in northern Ibiza linking Sant Joan and Cala de Sant Vicent. It follows old paths through pine forests, valleys and farmland, crossing dry stone terraces, wells and rural landscapes with traditional houses and stone walls. Along the way are springs like Pou des Baladre, known for its summer dances, and the village of Sant Vicent, where the 19th-century church reflects Ibiza’s traditional rural life.

It’s ideal for walkers who enjoy long countryside routes and want to discover the island’s quieter, more traditional side. The terrain is varied but not extreme, offering a rewarding balance of nature, history and local culture.

Cala de Sant Vicent is a picturesque beach and small resort area on the northeast coast of Ibiza and a great place to have a swim on your hike. It’s one of the island’s more tranquil spots, surrounded by pine-covered hills and cliffs that shelter a wide, gently curving bay.

The beach itself is about 400 meters long, with fine golden sand and clear turquoise water making it great for swimming, snorkeling and paddleboarding. A promenade runs along the seafront lined with cafes, restaurants and a few shops. It has a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere; much quieter than Ibiza’s resorts.
