I know – when you hear the words Costa Blanca, mountains and outdoor adventure aren’t the first images that pop into your mind. The Costa Blanca on the east coast of Spain is known for sandy beaches, boozy bars of Benidorm and warm weather. But, step off the plane, hire a car and head in the opposite direction from the majority of the tourists and you’re in for a treat. In just an hour, you’ll reach traditional mountain villages, incredible ridges, via ferratas, gorges, waterfalls and eerily quiet hiking trails. With cheap flights outside of the peak seasons, there are plenty of outdoor adventures in Costa Blanca.
